Quilt Blocks that use the "Combo Blocks"
Check out the "Block" links on the home page for directions to make the "Combination Blocks" and the "Half Square Blocks" that are used to make these designs.
Quilt Block Block Layout

These "blocks" can be used in any size project from miniatures like a hot pad to a full size quilt. Just change the size of your template to make the size quilt block you want to make. I use a 1 1/2" acrylic template and a scant 1/4" seam allowance.
You will be amazed at the small pieces that appear as you sew these "Combination Blocks" together.
This block works well for a coin purse or checkbook cover. Because I sell a lot of hotpads most of my designs are 6 blocks across by 6 blocks down. Using a 1 1/2" template this makes my pieced top without borders measure 6 1/2" unfinished. Add borders and the top becomes 8 1/2" unfinshed. I do have some designs that are either 3 blocks by 3 blocks or 5 blocks by 5 blocks but most will be 6 x 6. You can repeat part of the design to change the design from a square to a rectangle or experiment to get your designs.
